“Glory In The Cross” by Pastor Steve Camp

“Glory In The Cross” by Pastor Steve Camp

“For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with words of eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:17-18‬

Good Afternoon Beloved!

I trust that you’re enjoying the beginning a new week of walking with and serving the Lord! Thank you so much for all the encouraging words regarding this current sermon series on The Attributes of God. It has been a great joy in my life to dive into the depths of His Word to learn of His eternal character afresh!

The theme for this coming Lord’s Day will be, “THE SOLITARINESS OF GOD.” (This is chapter one in your AW Pink book.) This may seem to be an usual title, but as you will see it is a rich one biblically. It refers to the One Triune God’s self-sufficiency; His divine completeness; His eternal glory which is derived only from Himself. As Pink said, ‘During a past eternity, God was alone: self-contained, self-sufficient, self-satisfied; in need of nothing.’

I know that this will be new territory to consider for some of you, but that’s exciting too! I look forward to taking this awesome step with you in our journey of mining the depths of who our great God is!

May this profound verse by Paul as he recalls the words of Isaiah and Job express our hearts desire: “For who hath known the mind of the Lord? Or who hath been His counsellor? Or who hath first given to Him, and it shall be recompensed to him again?” (Rom 11:34-35).

Praying for you today and grateful for each one of you!Pastor Steve
