THIS WEEK – THE CROSS WORSHIP SERVICE. July 17th, 10am – James 1:19-27 “The Characteristics of a Maturing Believer.”

This week Pastor Ed Galante will be preaching a very practical message out of James 1 on the marks of a growing, genuine Christian. James is the first book written in the NT and offers us a glimpse of what the earliest of Christians were struggling with and facing in their daily lives in the Lord. For example, I identify my failings and shortcomings in these powerful, penetrating verses of James 1:19-27. And in reflecting upon their truths, their necessary rebuke leads me to repentance and righteous living for Jesus. SDG! Please read Psalm 25 to prepare your hearts and minds for worship this Lord’s Day.

I’m still in Nashville this weekend and will be praying for you all in your worship tomorrow! How I miss our church family when I’m away. Much love and grace to you!

Make much of Jesus beloved!

“the Spirit of God intercedes for us according to the will of God” (Romans 8:27)

I am often asked, “If you believe God works all things according to the counsel of his will (Ephesians 1:11) and that His knowledge of all things past, present, and future is infallible, then what is the point of praying that anything happen?”

Usually this question is asked in relation to human decision: “If God has predestined some to be his sons and chosen them before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4) then what’s the point in praying for anyone’s conversion?”

WHY WE CELEBRATE THE LORD’S SUPPER

WHY WE CELEBRATE THE LORD’S SUPPER

Communion is one of two ordinances (the other baptism) the Lord has commanded us to do in demonstrating our love and obedience to Him. According to the Apostle Paul as we do this we proclaim His death until He comes (1 Cor 11:26).
