Shattered and strengthened by the uncompromised pen of John Owen. Owen is the deepest and one of my favorites of the Puritans. Feast on every word…
Two great ways to begin the Lord’s Day with us at 9am: Women’s Ministries is studying “As Silver Refined” (by Kay Arthur); and Elder Ed Galante is teaching on “Christ in the Old Testament.” Hope you can join us!
This Week at The Cross: Sunday February 7th at 10am Titus 1:5-9 “The Reformed Pastor” (pt 2)
In Sunday worship we will begin looking at Titus 1:5-9 on the theme, “The Reformed Pastor.” There are 15 qualities of life and doctrine that the Apostle instructs for the Elders of the Lord’s church. These qualities though are not unique just for a pastor and are the standard for all of God’s people. But… a higher degree of accountability of those standards is required for a pastor. Please read Psalm 24 to prepare your hearts and minds for worship.
Also, one of our missionaries, Michelle Coward, will be sharing about her ministry in Africa as well. Excited to have her with us in worship this week! Lastly, Family Fellowship Meal is immediately following the worship service at our home. I hope you’ll be able to join us as we make much of Jesus together! Pastor Steve (2 Cor 4:5)
BAND OF BROTHERS BONFIRE January 30th – 8AM up at our home! Theme: “Staying Connected – Living in Community!” (pt 2) We will continue discussing 1 Cor 12:1-13 which is Paul’s great instruction to living for the Lord in the context of the redeemed community.
I’ll have the bonfire going by 8am. We will have breakfast items for you and some wonderful fellowship together. Bring a cigar or pipe if you’d like too. A lawn chair would be handy if you have one. If not we will hook you up!Hope you can join us for our first outdoor BOB!Pastor Steve (2 Cor. 4:5-7)
The great divines of the 17th century stated what they were for and to clarify what they denied on certain theological issues. This is the spirit of this post for our church. Nothing more important than the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ! It was THE test for orthodoxy in Paul’s day and it is in ours as well! (Galatians 1:6-9) May this portion of a statement of faith encourage you in the truth and life-changing hope of the gospel of Jesus!
This is the general introduction by Pastor Steve on the incredible, meaningful handbook on evangelism – the epistle of Titus. He’s given this series the inspiring title of “Becoming Fishers of Men.” I hope that’s your heart for 2016 – let’s be soul winners, by God’s sovereign grace, seeing lives saved and changed for eternity! Amen?
