“The Christians Bill of Rights” (living godly in a pagan society)

In Augustine’s brilliant tome, “The City of God”, he depicts members of two societies: The City of God and The City of Man. Both are bound by God’s sovereignty; both are under the authority of His Word, but the two cities posses very different realities.

Our God is an awesome God… amen?! How He protected and watched over us all during Hurricane Irma was nothing short of His sovereign mercy to us. But also, please remember in prayer those in south Florida and on the West Coast that were hit very hard by this storm.

Tomorrow we will consider the greatness of our Lord’s joy in Phil 1:3-11. Whether in the valley or on the mountain top there is really nothing this world can do to steal our joy in the Lord… though at times our hearts feel crushed and hopeless under the loads we carry (1 Pt 5:7).

Please read Psalm 104 to prepare your hearts and minds for worship. Also, a very special thanks to those who came out today to help clean up and make ready our church campus for Sunday!

God is faithful beloved!

“Is God Calling You to the Ministry?” by A.W. Tozer

As you read the following prayer written by A.W. Tozer at the beginning of his ministry, may it encourage you to recover the reverence of God in ministry and to consider has the Lord called you to serve His people in His local church or as a missionary beyond to another nation. What a joy to be employed by the King in His service for His glory for eternity. Amen? (Galatians 1:1-3)

A Biblical Conversation Concerning Charismatic Gifts – NT Prophecy

In the wake of Dr. MacArthur’s Strange Fire conference there has been a myriad of discussions, debates and social media conflagration that has erupted. I am honored to join friends Rob Wilkerson and Adrian Warnock to discuss elements of this conference and in specific the NT biblical gift of prophecy. I would relish your comments. SDG!

The Reason for Our Redemption (pt 3) “The New Community in Jesus” (Ephesians 2:11-22)

This week Pastor Steve begins Ephesians 2:11-22 on The New Community in Jesus or From Disunity to Community. This message has as a sub-theme overcoming racism. There was no greater racial tension than what the early church experienced between Jew and Gentile. The gospel was powerful in bringing down that dividing wall! May we learn from its truths in our day.
