THIS WEEK AT THE CROSS, AUGUST 28, 10am. Encouragement for Elect Exiles (pt 2) – “Born Again to a Living Hope” (1 Peter 1:3-12)

We are continuing in week two of our recent study of 1 Peter “Encouragement for Elect Exiles.” This week we will be looking at one of the most encouraging passages that any weary traveller in this world to glory could ever hear – that we have a “living hope through the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.” What great joy God has showered upon our sin-conceived souls that we have an inheritance reserved in heaven for us and kept by the power of God! I pray you’ll find tremendous comfort and assurance in these precious verses of 1 Peter 1:3-12!

Please read Psalm 28 to prepare your hearts and minds for worship this week. We hope you’ll join us this Lord’s Day as we make much of Jesus together! From the crucible of grace, Pastor Steve (Acts 20:24)

Is Salvation a Matter of Your Free Will… or God’s?

The issue of the gospel is not how do we get sinful people to a holy God; but how does a holy God come to sinful people without violating His holiness and justice? The answer is cross (Heb 2:17). But in evangelism is God a frustrated suitor nervously waiting for sinful man to choose Him? Does man have a free will to choose God; or does God alone have a free will to choose man? (Romans 9:10-24)

WHY WE CELEBRATE THE LORD’S SUPPER

WHY WE CELEBRATE THE LORD’S SUPPER

Communion is one of two ordinances (the other baptism) the Lord has commanded us to do in demonstrating our love and obedience to Him. According to the Apostle Paul as we do this we proclaim His death until He comes (1 Cor 11:26).
