The first time I heard about this book was from this video by Mark. Luckily, I have not read the book but have read enough analysis’ of it to know that it is something that is not worth my time.
The biggest problem I have with this book is that I have actually experienced people coming up to me telling me that they never understood the bible but now because of this book they can understand it. That would be great if what this book was explaining was actually biblically sound. It has become a phenomena that many “curious Christians” use to replace the biblical explanation of the trinity.
A big thanks to Mark for the heads up on this one and for a great break down of what the scriptures actually say about the trinity.
Thanks to Mark Driscoll. I had never heard of this book. The bible calls us to have discernment on what is truth. It’s a shame that people strictly for the almighty dollar decide to write books in re: to the trinity are a fallacy and misleading people who may desire the truth.
It’s a boy? Glad you’re not a prophet . Congrats to you and Sam on this wonderful sneak peak of your coming son. Celebrating with you!
As to your comment: good points. This is a battle that still rages on unfortunately now under the cloak of orthodox faith. “Burn your plastic trinity…” Amen?
Thank God there’s pastor’s like you,still preaching against phony teaching that comes down the pipe,in 2 timothy 4:4 it says ‘And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. the story about the shack, is a lie from the pits of hell.
i thank that books that Oprah Winfrey and others compel the general public to read,especially Christians. should watch out!please read the bible!

Thx Robert. We all appreciate your encouraging from Pastor Driscoll to myself and the entire staff here at The Cross Church.
Discernment is in desperate need at this hour of redemptive history. May the Lord grant His people the protective wisdom in understanding doctrine that is orthodox and honoring to Christ Jesus rather than just sentimental and expedient.
What’s with the book that others find more interesting than the bible? I just attended the Covenant marriage Seminars and it was an informative activity.
Thanks for posting. =) I had the unfortunate experience of reading The Shack for a bible study assignment in high school. I brought my concerns to our leader without much luck, but it breaks my heart to see so many deceived. The lack of discernment in our churches and in our leadership is deeply troubling. I’m grateful to have a pastor and shepard like you to keep a watchful eye when our backs are turned.

Mark gives a great analysis of this book and a solid defense of the doctrine of the Trinity. This is a must see!
Have you read The Shack? Do you agree with Driscoll’s critique?
What are your thoughts?

Great video. It is so sad to ponder the lack of discernment today.
Theology matters.
Satan always attacks at four main areas:
1. the authority and veracity of the Word of God;
2. the nature, character, and ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ;
3. the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ;
4. and, the nature and character of the Triune God.
The concern is, is that he is now doing this from within the accepted boundaries of evangelicalism.
We all need to guard the trust…
