Sola Scriptura… A Weapon of Mass Instruction

Sola Scriptura… A Weapon of Mass Instruction

Our only rule of faith and practice is God’s Word. Its authority knows no equal. May this article encourage you as to its sufficiency and supremacy. (Psalm 19:7-9)

For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe” 1 Thess. 2:13

The most effective weapon we possess as Christians for the work of the ministry is not pragmatic methodology, our TV shows, book clubs, music concerts, radio programs, our celebrities, famous pastors, or even our social alliances with other cultural moral entities–as effective as some of those things may be. The most effective weapon that any church or Christian possesses is the Word of God and the life lived in obedience to its claims.

Cross Church Worship January 19th at 10am – Justified By Faith Alone pt 2 (Galatians 2:15-21)

Good evening beloved!

The heart of the Gospel is that we are saved not by works of righteousness or philanthropic acts of kindness we do for our fellow man. But that we are justified by grace, through faith, in Christ alone. That is the Gospel and is the focus of our service of worship tomorrow.

Please read Psalm 11 and Romans 7:7-25 to prepare your hearts and minds for worship!

Looking forward to adorning the gospel in the worship of our Lord Jesus Christ with you.

Soli Deo Gloria!

This week Pastor Steve begins chapter three of Ephesians under the general theme of The Revelation (or relationship) of our Redemption. This is the last chapter of profound statements of the faith before Paul calls us to live obediently to the Lord and His Word. May this message on Ephesians 3:1-13 lift your hearts and minds afresh in worship to the King of kings and Lord of lords!

Adult Sunday School at 9am

Begin the Lord’s Day with two great Adult classes:

1. Women’s Ministries is now studying “Set Apart.” This is a study of The Beatitudes. The focus is in knowing God’s true happiness for your life which doesn’t come from things, relationships or positive circumstances, but flows from the very holiness of God! This is taught by Cynthia Camp.

2. A study of the book “Respectable Sins” by Jerry Bridges. This is a powerful book on what it means to die daily to the sins we tend to tolerate everyday. The focus here is on the faithfulness, holiness and grace of God to His covenant people!

Hope you can join us!
