Justification is by faith alone, through grace alone, in Christ alone.
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith,
we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:1
Justification always brings sanctification. There is a distinction, and it’s important not to confuse the two.
Faith is not by works. But true faith will produce ‘works’. Works can seem small in appearance, but they will be there (and true Christians will have a desire to live godly lives for Christ). No matter how many good works we do, they will never be the cause of justification – that is ALWAYS by and of genuine saving faith – God’s gracious gift to us (cp, Ephesians 2:8-9).
But sanctification should always follow justification as the evidence of truly being born again.
Throughout your new life In the Lord Jesus you should grow in Christ (sanctification). Listen, true Christians will WANT to obey Christ, and will grow in Him (John 14:15; Ephesians 4:16). This is not to say you will never sin (1 John 2:1-2), but a mark of a true believer is daily following the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word (2 Corinthians 7:1; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-3; Romans 12:1-2; Colossians 3:5; Romans 8:13).
And the one who is justified, being sanctified, will then persevere until the end (Romans 5:1-5; James 1:2-4).
