The ebb and flow of American Christianity seeks it almost seems daily to reinvent what the church should be and look like. The following seeks to divine that role biblically – not culturally or pragmatically. Question: Which one are our churches known for in today?

I think that getting the most out of studying and reading the Bible is a subject always near to God’s people. This was David’s prayer in Psalm 119:18 when he said, “Open my eyes that I may behold wonderful things from Thy law.” Not content with just surface knowledge, the once shepherd boy knew that God must draw the veil from his eyes so that he could behold the vast treasures of His Word (Psalm 19:7-11)

Pastor Steve concludes this great section of Scripture in Ephesians 5:22-33 on Wives and Husbands… with the emphasis on Jesus’ scared love for His people… the mystery of Christ and the church. We hope it will encourage you in the unshakable, eternal love of God through Christ by the Holy Spirit in redeeming a people for His own possession and glory! What a Savior we serve and worship. Amen?

This week Pastor Steve focuses on the roles of both the wife and husband before the Lord and each other as Paul instructs us out of Ephesians 5:22-33. Wives… submissive love; husbands… sacrificial love. May this simple yet profound portion of God’s Word encourage us all to honor the Lord by serving one another as “coheirs of the grace of life” in marriage. And as we love our families may we learn to love more deeply and genuinely the family of God. Amen?.

“Sacred honor” isn’t a phrase we use much these days, but every American life is touched by the bounty of this, the Founders’ legacy. It means dedicated and devoted to God to uphold moral integrity, strength of character, and ethical principles for the betterment of all. It is freedom, tested by blood, and watered with tears. Especially as Christians, let’s not take our freedom for granted.
