Today is the 42nd anniversary of the decision in Roe v. Wade. Since 1973 an estimated 50 million babies have been killed. President Obama believes killing unborn children is a “core constitutional right.” The One Triune God of the Bible disagrees! (Psalm 139:12-16, 51:5; Jer 1:5; Ex 21:22-25)
While the word abortion may not appear in the Bible, God’s Word is not silent when it comes to the sanctity of life or the sin of murdering unborn children.
God’s Word is clear that conception is never an accident for God personally creates every life. Psalm 127:3 says, “Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward.” Over and over through Scripture, God exerted sovereign control over man’s ability to have children (cf, Genesis 16:2, 17:16, 20:18, 25:21; 1 Samuel 1:19-20; Ruth 4:13). We live because God gave us life.
Job 10:8-12 credits the formation of life in the womb to God. He describes just how fearfully and wonderfully each person has been handmade by the Lord. There are no biological accidents — that includes deformities and disabilities. Consider Exodus 4:11, where the Lord said to Moses, “Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes him mute or deaf, or seeing or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?” Every aspect of our being – even those we might consider flaws or defects — has been ordained by the Lord according to His purpose (John 9:3).
Today, stand up for the unborn, honour the Lord and His creatures and choose life! “Lord Jesus, send repentance, reformation and revival to America!”
