I think that getting the most out of studying and reading the Bible is a subject always near to God’s people. This was David’s prayer in Psalm 119:18 when he said, “Open my eyes that I may behold wonderful things from Thy law.” Not content with just surface knowledge, the once shepherd boy knew that God must draw the veil from his eyes so that he could behold the vast treasures of His Word (Psalm 19:7-11)

“Sacred honor” isn’t a phrase we use much these days, but every American life is touched by the bounty of this, the Founders’ legacy. Nicholas Van Hoffman has a penetrating column on the “Mush God” of today (1978). Read it, friend. Read it twice and maybe you will weep as he speaks of the gross representation of the Holy Deity. -LEonard Ravenhill (cp, Psalm 115:4-8)
