The sum of the gospel is found in Christ Jesus! He alone is our peace, life, truth, way, hope, righteousness, Lamb and Lion. Spurgeon once again lifts us to the throne room in heaven to gaze upon the only One worthy of our praise, adoration, worship, and eternal joy! (Col. 1:15-20, 2:9-10)

“For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with words of eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:17-18

by Charles Spurgeon “When we know the Lord, we receive the forgiveness of sins. We know Him as the God of grace, passing by our transgressions. What a joyful discovery is this!”

“the Spirit of God intercedes for us according to the will of God” (Romans 8:27)
I am often asked, “If you believe God works all things according to the counsel of his will (Ephesians 1:11) and that His knowledge of all things past, present, and future is infallible, then what is the point of praying that anything happen?”
Usually this question is asked in relation to human decision: “If God has predestined some to be his sons and chosen them before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4) then what’s the point in praying for anyone’s conversion?”

“The early Church was married to poverty, prisons & persecutions. Today, the Church is married to prosperity, personality & popularity,” -Leonard Ravenhill (John 15:18-25; 1 Cor 4:9-13)
