In Augustine’s brilliant tome, “The City of God”, he depicts members of two societies: The City of God and The City of Man. Both are bound by God’s sovereignty; both are under the authority of His Word, but the two cities posses very different realities.
June 22nd, 2014. Pastor Steve revisits Romans 10:9-13 on The Gospel of God focusing on the great truth that Jesus is Lord! The acknowledgment that Jesus is Lord means that He “shares the name and the nature, holiness, authority, power, majesty and eternity of the one and only true God!” -Cranfield
Pastor Steve unfolds the weighty doctrine of sin found in Ephesians 2:1-3. He’s titled it, “Sinners In The Hands of A Holy God.” May your hearts be stirred to the greatness of our salvation in Jesus because of the forgiveness of the depth of our own sin!
“Grace is a provision for men who are so fallen that they cannot lift the ax of justice; so corrupt that they cannot change their own natures; so adverse to God that they cannot turn to Him; so blind that they cannot see Him; so deaf that they cannot hear Him; and so dead that He Himself must open their graves.” -G.S. Bishop
This week Pastor Steve begins Ephesians 2:11-22 on The New Community in Jesus or From Disunity to Community. This message has as a sub-theme overcoming racism. There was no greater racial tension than what the early church experienced between Jew and Gentile. The gospel was powerful in bringing down that dividing wall! May we learn from its truths in our day.
Pastor Steve returns to our study of the book of Revelation (Revelation 19:1-5). It is on the glorious theme of praise and worship and glory of God marked by the word “hallelujah.” we pray this message encourages you in your daily walk with the Lord to live godly before Him and others.
